Position Overview: The Clinical Coordinator for Radiologic Technology is responsible for guiding students through the Radiologic Technology Program while overseeing all clinical programming and experiences. This role is under the supervision of the Department Chair - Diagnostic Medical Imaging.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver an assigned course schedule that includes clinical, laboratory, and theoretical instruction.
- Facilitate and assess competencies in clinical environments relevant to the Radiologic Technology curriculum.
- Conduct regular clinical visits to provide hands-on instruction and support to students.
- Evaluate student performance during clinical visits using appropriate assessment tools.
- Monitor academic progress and maintain precise records of student achievements while engaging in curriculum development.
- Communicate progress and provide guidance to students, ensuring accessibility for their educational needs.
- Review imaging cases and competencies with students on a regular basis.
- Coordinate departmental communications and share teaching methodologies with colleagues in clinical settings.
- Mentor clinical staff regarding policies and procedures, acting as an academic resource.
- Build and sustain collaborative relationships with industry partners in the field.
- Prepare electronic reports on clinical visitations.
- Conduct competency-based assessments and related clinical activities within affiliated Radiology Departments.
- Work closely with clinical agency staff to ensure students meet their clinical objectives.
- Adhere to all academic policies, institutional regulations, and demonstrate ethical conduct.
- Maintain current knowledge in clinical practice and imaging theory, utilizing relevant instructional technologies.
- Comply with all institutional, state, and federal regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: A Master's degree from an accredited institution in Healthcare Administration or Radiological Sciences, or a Bachelor's degree with relevant qualifications and experience.
Experience: A minimum of five years of teaching experience in radiological sciences or equivalent industry experience.
Licensure/Certification: Current certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and a valid driver's license or access to transportation.
Recommended Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of teaching methodologies, educational standards, and the ability to maintain detailed records of student progress. A professional demeanor and the ability to collaborate effectively with others are essential.
