Radiology Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Tech to join our team at Good Shepherd Health Care. As a Radiology Tech, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and assisting in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnostic Radiography Procedures
- Corroborate patient clinical history with procedure, ensuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner.
- Prepare patients for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
- Select and operate radiography equipment and associated devices to achieve desired results.
- Position patients and equipment to best demonstrate anatomic areas of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort.
- Immobilize patients as required for appropriate examinations.
- Determine radiographic technique exposure factors, minimizing exposure to patients and others.
- Evaluate images for technical quality, ensuring proper identification is recorded.
- Verify informed consent for, and assist licensed practitioners with, interventional procedures.
- Practice aseptic techniques as necessary.
- Assume responsibility for provision of physical and emotional needs of patients during procedures.
- In agreement with state statute(s) and/or where institutional policy permits: prepare, identify, and/or administer contrast media and/or medications as prescribed by licensed practitioners.
- Initiate basic life support action when necessary.
- Assist licensed practitioners with Fluoroscopic and specialized interventional radiography procedures.
- Education
- Completion of formal Radiologic Technology accredited program.
- Certifications
- Licensed in the State of Oregon as Radiologic Technologist.
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in radiography.
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).
- Physical Requirements
- Good general health.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and occasionally lift 100 pounds or more.
- Frequent sitting and/or standing throughout work shift required.
- Occasionally lifts supplies/equipment.
- Manual dexterity and mobility required.
- Ability to operate office equipment and perform general office duties.
