Job Title: Manager Engineering

The Manager of Engineering and Maintenance at Rutland Regional Medical Center is responsible for overseeing the management and execution of all building utility systems, building infrastructure, interiors, and non-medical equipment repairs and maintenance. This role ensures compliance with the Joint Commission Environment of Care and Life Safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and manage the Utility Systems Management Plan, Fire Safety Management Plan, Statement of Conditions, and the computerized maintenance management system.
  • Administer the computerized maintenance management system to ensure timely completion of requests and corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for new equipment based on manufacturer recommendations or Alternative Equipment Maintenance (AEM) programs.
  • Participate in operational and capital budgeting processes and manage assigned budgets.
  • Collaborate with leaders across the organization to assist in day-to-day activities, projects, and events.
Requirements:
  • Master level license or certification in a building trade, or Associate degree in engineering, applied science, facilities management, or a related field.
  • 5 years of associated engineering experience, preferably in a healthcare setting, and 5 years of management/supervisory/administrative experience.
  • Certification in Healthcare Facilities Management (CHFM) is preferred, and licensure at a Master level or certification in a building trade is desirable.
  • Valid Vermont Driver's license.
Preferred Skills:
  • Demonstrated strong knowledge of hospital equipment and building primary and secondary mechanical, electrical, and plumbing distribution equipment.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of maintenance and repair management systems.
  • Solid project management experience and excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with computer applications associated with work order systems, microprocessor control systems, and computer-based ordering, scheduling, and spreadsheet software.

Salary Range: $73,500 - $117,500
