Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at East Tennessee Children's Hospital. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to help diagnose and treat patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform accurate and appropriate testing of specimens received in the laboratory, according to established laboratory protocol and procedures.
  • Document and report test results in a timely manner and according to established laboratory protocol and procedures.
  • Investigate and document problems with unacceptable specimens.
  • Follow established guidelines for resolving patient specimen problems.
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly, or as needed, maintenance on instruments and equipment as appropriate.
  • Perform calibration of equipment as required.
Requirements
  • Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field.
  • Certification as an MLT by the ASCP, AMT or AAB.
  • 2 years related laboratory experience preferred.
Working Conditions

This position requires frequent sitting, walking, standing, squatting, bending, and reaching. Keyboard/computer use and/or repetitive motions may be required.
