Product Development Specialist

Product engineers are responsible for designing commercial products and their associated manufacturing processes. They coordinate with the product development team to turn ideas into marketable products based on industry research and market regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and draft the engineering drawings of products using designing and simulation software
- Develop fabrication drawings for sheet metal shop to use
- Developing design ideas based on customer interests, budgets, and market research
- Selecting product materials and designing the product manufacturing process
- Meeting with the development team to discuss product ideas
- Test products (prototypes) & adjust design via simulation software and evaluate the product prototype to identify potential safety hazards
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering field
- Previous experience working as a product engineer
- In-depth knowledge of Solidworks, CAD, AutoCAD, and CAM software
- In-depth knowledge of Electrical codes and wiring diagrams
- Verifiable experience with SAP or similar ERP programs
- Background with use ISO and engineering repository software
- Experience with 3D printing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good project management skills
- Creative and passionate about creating solutions to customer problems
- Able to work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Able to work in seated in front of a computer for long hours at a time
- Product engineer will be able to create 2D drawing from 3D models & ability and experience in creating drawings/models from actual parts
