Position Overview

Role Summary:
Deliver comprehensive administrative services as a representative payee, ensuring accurate distribution of funds and meticulous record-keeping. A background and credit check are prerequisites for this role.

Qualifications:
A high school diploma or GED is required; candidates should possess one to three months of relevant experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients.
  • Uphold a high level of confidentiality in all interactions.
  • Execute duties as outlined by the supervisor within the defined scope of work.
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with clients, referral agencies, and program partners.
  • Stay updated on applicable state and federal regulations impacting the organization and its clientele.
  • Implement all organizational policies and procedures, including workplace regulations and corrective actions.
  • Participate in meetings, training sessions, and workshops as required.
  • Deliver services in alignment with Goodwill policies and CARF standards, ensuring safety principles are adhered to.
  • Disburse funds according to the representative payee plan, prioritizing essential needs such as housing and utilities, while addressing secondary personal needs.
  • Conduct intake assessments for new clients, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Maintain comprehensive files for each payee, including essential forms and relevant information.
  • Coordinate with caseworkers and financial representatives to manage appointments, track payments, and resolve any issues related to payee services.
  • Keep an accurate check register for each client, providing monthly records to the accounting department.
  • Prepare and issue checks to clients, ensuring accurate record-keeping of all transactions.
  • Engage with creditors to establish payment arrangements for clients.
  • Document payments received from external agencies and notify relevant offices if payments are delayed.
  • Assist with reporting requirements for the Social Security Administration, detailing fund distribution over specified periods.
  • Collaborate with other agencies to provide clients with information on energy assistance and community services.
  • Avoid any actions that could create a conflict of interest regarding clients or their accounts.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations and organizational policies regarding confidentiality.
  • Follow all health, safety, and fire standards, along with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
