About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager to lead our operations in a specific geographic region. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the service, repair, and modernization of our products, as well as driving recovery efforts for units outside our portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide management of company's activities and functions relating to ongoing service, repair, maintenance, and retention of all Schindler and other products existing within our portfolio.
  • Drive all recovery efforts for units outside our portfolio in an assigned geographic span.
  • Oversee Modernization activities (sales and operations) in the same assigned geography.
  • Serve as the local connection point (resources, support, and P&L) for related New Installations activities.
  • Develop and execute annual regional business operations plans and budgets for service, repair, and modernization in support of the territory's financial and non-financial objectives.
  • Support the implementation of territory quality and operations initiatives.
  • Develop and execute a strategic, sustainable plan to deliver high-quality service and grow loyalty with customers across all three product lines.
  • Ensure coordination and execution on all product safety responsibilities/initiatives in partnership with Field Quality Excellence organization.
  • Manage the cancellation avoidance process on all accounts with a focus on Top 20 and at-risk programs.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers and influential industry consultants through personal contact and staff assignments.
  • Grow portfolio unit count and value above market standards, with fixed-price repairs driving the immediate business.
  • Develop and execute market plans to direct the sale of company products and services for orders entered objective relating to price, volume, mix, and market share across the various district load centers.
  • Manage, mentor, and lead a team to deliver and drive their KPIs using appropriate performance management methods.
  • Plan, schedule, and assign workload requirements interfacing skill levels of field and administrative personnel to the needs of the operation through PMS job elements, activities, and performance reviews.
  • Initiate procedures and leadership practices to create a business environment for participative management; pro-active labor relations with local business agents; maintain high morale of subordinates and be a strong, aggressive supporter of business unit's management philosophy and practices.
  • Set expectations for Field Technician engagement by ensuring the completion of on-time installations, maintenance quality walks, route reviews, performance reviews, and ride-alongs.
  • Manage field service activities for parts inventory, company tools, vehicles, and other fixed assets for most cost-effective results.
  • Responsible for managing net working capital and overseeing appropriate asset management measures and billing procedures.
  • Drive process and tooling compliance across service, sales, and operations.
Requirements
  • MBA or MA in a related field.
  • BA/BS in Business, Management, or Engineering.
  • Possess overall knowledge of product and product application; installation and service techniques and procedures; ability to understand financial statements; legal awareness to contract terms and conditions.
  • Ten to fifteen years in various assignments within the Company, in the Elevator industry, or in another service-oriented business.
  • Experience managing a full P&L for an industrial company.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • SAP experience is preferred.
