Job Summary:

The MRI Technologist will be responsible for the daily management of MRI operations, performing Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures following established protocols, and collaborating closely with Radiologists and other medical professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Imaging Modalities: Proficient in MRI imaging modalities' workflows, protocols, and procedures.
  • Magnetic Resonance Safety: Prioritizes magnetic resonance safety principles to ensure the well-being of patients, staff, and self.
  • Quality Control: Verifies the accuracy and quality of all relevant patient and procedural information.
  • Scan Parameters: Selects appropriate MRI pulse sequences and scan parameters as per prescribed protocols.
  • Education and Training: Contributes to the education and training of new staff members and offers guidance to MRI students.
  • Patient Care: Delivers direct patient care and instructions before, during, and after procedures.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Handles equipment troubleshooting in case of malfunctions and reports issues to the radiology maintenance/supervisory team.
Requirements
  • Education: Completion of an Associate's program from an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) accredited institution (preferable).
Certifications and Licenses
  • ARRT Certification: Mandatory Certification and Registration with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Diagnostic Radiology with Advanced MRI Registry (MR). Alternatively, must obtain this certification within one year of employment.
  • BLS Certification: Possession of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Preferred upon hiring and required before direct patient care.
Experience
  • Experience: Ideally, a minimum of one year of experience in an MRI department within a hospital setting.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) is advantageous.
Work Schedule

Part-time MRI Technologist working a specified number of days per week, including every 4th weekend. On-call duty is mandatory for weekends and holidays.
