Join Our Team and Make a Difference

As a GIS Intern at HDR, you'll have the opportunity to work on exciting projects that make a real impact on our clients and communities. You'll apply standard engineering techniques and procedures to develop and implement geospatial and data visualization solutions, and support field data collection using mobile GIS/GPS equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gain hands-on experience with geospatial data analysis and visualization using ArcGIS and other software packages.
  • Support senior-level GIS analysts with spatial analyses, map preparation, and data editing.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative solutions for clients and projects.
  • Participate in mentoring and young professionals' programs to connect with recent college graduates and company leaders.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years completed toward degree with a 3.0+ GPA.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to the field of study/industry, including GIS, AutoCAD, and hydraulic modeling platforms.
  • Preference given to local candidates.
Required Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Possess strong communication skills and basic Microsoft Office skills.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
