SALARY: $18.80/hour
HOURS: 40 Hours per Week
8:00 am to 4:30 pm
(Starting and Ending to be set by Management)
On-call duty on a rotating basis with other Caseworkers.
BENEFITS: Full County Benefits after 90 days
Probationary Period- Medical after the first day of new month after hire date
OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF JOB:
To deliver comprehensive case management services for an assigned caseload. This role is an entry-level professional position in social services, with all responsibilities conducted under the close supervision of a County Caseworker Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB:
- Engage in formal and informal training programs that provide foundational knowledge relevant to the agency's mission and applicable laws, methods, procedures, rules, and regulations governing the agency's operations.
- Execute entry-level case management responsibilities for approximately twenty families, including foster children, protective services, supervision services, and child abuse cases, which involve regular home visits and inspections/assessments.
- Prepare and deliver accurate and comprehensive testimony in court for assigned cases.
- Maintain individual case notes, dictation, and documentation on assigned cases in compliance with state requirements.
- Utilize computer software and other office equipment as necessary to fulfill job duties.
- Identify and coordinate services for individuals and make timely referrals to the team.
- Collaborate closely with other professionals such as behavior therapists, speech and hearing therapists, physical therapists, registered and/or licensed practical nurses, psychologists, physicians, and others to ensure the most effective care and treatment.
- Attend training sessions as required and approved by the supervisor.
- Serve as a resource for individuals seeking information.
- Assist colleagues in addressing the needs of consumers.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Regular instruction and ongoing supervision regarding daily work responsibilities from Supervisor.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work indoors and outdoors in adequate workspace, lighting, ventilation, and temperatures.
- Experience above-average exposure to stress and noise, with frequent disruptions.
- Normal indoor exposure to dust/dirt.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to record, convey, and present information, explain procedures, and follow instructions.
- Capability to sit for extended periods throughout the workday, with intermittent periods of standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, and driving as necessary to perform essential job duties.
- Dexterity requirements range from simple to coordinated movements of fingers/hands; feet/legs; torso as necessary to carry out job duties.
- Light work, with occasional lifting/carrying of objects weighing up to twenty pounds.
- Must demonstrate emotional stability.
- Ability to cope with the physical and mental stress of the position.
- Attention to detail and the ability to concentrate on work.
- EDUCATION/TRAINING
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Proficiency in speaking and understanding the English language and following oral and written instructions.
- Knowledge of current social case management principles, techniques, and methods.
- Awareness of current social, economic, and health issues and resources, and their impact on individual growth and development.
- Understanding of individual and group development and behaviors, and effective methods for working with adults and children facing social, economic, emotional, or health challenges.
- Familiarity with the basic principles and methods of program interpretation and community organization.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals and assist them in utilizing their potential to adjust to specific disabilities.
- Capacity to understand and assess the needs and rights of others, and to work with individuals who are physically challenged, emotionally troubled, or economically disadvantaged.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Initiative and problem-solving abilities.
- Capability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with representatives of local, state, and federal agencies; health organizations and institutions; and the general public.
- Proficiency in conducting research and organizing professional presentations.
