The Manufacturing Engineer plays a crucial role in enhancing manufacturing processes and product quality. This position focuses on continuous improvement initiatives across the entire value chain by analyzing product and manufacturing methods, identifying improvement opportunities, and collaborating with manufacturing teams to implement effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the successful launch of New Product Introductions (NPI) within the manufacturing operations.
  • Support facility transformation, technology transfer, and the ongoing maintenance of mixed model lines or value streams.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of process improvement initiatives through the implementation of policies, procedures, and process documentation.
  • Apply demand-driven principles and strategies to enhance operational excellence and long-term planning.
  • Facilitate the smooth flow of product, material, and information streams to maximize efficiency and minimize operational costs.
  • Contribute innovative ideas to drive business results and enhance performance.
  • Utilize standard Generac tools, methodologies, and practices to achieve objectives.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives aimed at achieving customer satisfaction and fulfillment.
  • Collaborate closely with shop floor personnel to foster ongoing enhancements in manufacturing methods, systems, and controls.
  • Oversee area layouts, process definitions, PLC programming, and the design, selection, justification, and implementation of equipment and tooling.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology with 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar engineering environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Manufacturing Engineering.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and/or ProE).
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with lean principles and process improvement methodologies.
  • Experience leading diverse projects and collaborating cross-functionally to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Ability to operate in high mix, low volume, and high volume, low mix production settings.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proven ability to manage shifting deadlines and priorities in a dynamic environment.

Physical Demands: This role requires regular communication and manual dexterity. Employees may need to stand, walk, stoop, bend, or reach above shoulder height. Occasionally, lifting up to 25 pounds may be necessary. The position involves frequent computer-based work, requiring periods of sitting and close vision. Occasional travel may be required.
