Job Summary

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator RN Medical Surgical role ensures efficient throughput and high-quality patient care. In collaboration with management, the CNC directs nursing care, serves as a resource person for staff, and models a commitment to our organization's vision and values.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality patient care.
  • Responsible for assisting the director by managing Acute Surgical and Medical Oncology daily operations, including staffing, supply ordering/inventory, daily rounds, and documentation requirements.
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
  • Supports a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary.
  • Operationalizes current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
  • Provides recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.
  • Assists with staff scheduling and manages all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.

Requirements

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with Associates Degree required and BSN preferred.
  • Current licensure by the Indiana State Board of Nursing as a Registered Professional Nurse or a current Compact State RN license required.
  • At least 3 years of acute care nursing experience required, 2 years of leadership experience in related field preferred.
  • Computer literacy & familiarity with nearly all Microsoft Office products.
  • Proficient oral and written skills.

Estimated Salary

$85,000 - $115,000 per year, depending on experience.
