Job Overview

BronxWorks, a leading social services organization in New York City, is seeking a skilled Development Research Assistant to support our fundraising efforts. This role plays a vital part in helping us build strong relationships with foundations, corporations, and individual donors.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized professional who can research and analyze data to identify potential funding opportunities. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing skills, be able to meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Conduct thorough research on foundations, funding federations, corporations, and funding consortia using various sources, including the Candid research platform, websites, and other databases.
  • Analyze data from government agencies, policy institutions, or other sources to identify trends and patterns related to institutional giving.
  • Prepare summaries and reports on select foundations, funding federations, corporations, or funding consortia based on publicly available information.
  • Compile data to support the preparation of proposals, reports, or inquiry letters to public or private institutional funders.
  • Assist the Development Department with the preparation of proposals, reports, inquiry letters, or other materials to current or prospective funding sources.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have an Associate degree in a relevant field, such as social sciences, urban affairs, public policy, or quantitative analysis. You should also possess solid writing skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, and have a working knowledge of the local community.
