About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate General Education Teacher to join our team at Building Connections Behavioral Health. As a General Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing consultation and co-teaching with special education teachers, instruction and support to students with disabilities in grades K-8.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach a small group of students inside and outside the classroom, utilizing various instructional strategies and technologies to adapt curriculum and differentiate instruction.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, based on their unique abilities, goals, and learning styles.
  • Provide specialized instruction and support in academic, social, emotional, and behavioral areas to students with disabilities, both in inclusive and specialized settings.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, collect and analyze data, and provide regular progress reports to students, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure that students' IEPs are implemented effectively and that accommodations and modifications are provided as needed.
  • Design and implement project-based lessons that align with the curriculum and educational standards, catering to the diverse learning needs of K-8 school students.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field, with a valid California teacher credential/permit or out-of-state equivalent approved by CDE for special education.
  • Proven experience in providing specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities, preferably in a K-8 setting.
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent understanding of diverse learning needs and ability to adapt instruction accordingly.
  • Familiarity with a variety of instructional strategies, resources, and technologies for special education.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers, administrators, parents, and support staff.
