Special Education Teacher for K-8 Students with Disabilities

Building Connections Behavioral Health, a renowned provider of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) services, is seeking an exceptional Special Education Teacher to join our team at Building Connections Academy in Concord, CA. About the RoleWe are looking for a dedicated and passionate teacher who can provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities in grades K-8. As a Special Education Teacher, you will work closely with students, parents, BCBAs, Behavior Interventionists, and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that cater to each child's unique needs and abilities.
Key Responsibilities- Teach small groups of students inside and outside the classroom using evidence-based instructional strategies and resources.
- Develop and implement IEPs that address academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students with disabilities.
- Provide specialized instruction and support in inclusive and specialized settings, adapting curriculum to meet diverse learning needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure effective implementation of IEPs and accommodations.
- Assess and monitor student progress, collect and analyze data, and provide regular progress reports to stakeholders.
- Design and implement project-based lessons aligned with curriculum standards, promoting critical thinking, problem-solving, and 21st-century skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid California teacher credential/permit or out-of-state equivalent approved by CDE for special education.
- Proven experience in providing specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities (K-8, elementary experience required).
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers, administrators, parents, and support staff.
- Patience, flexibility, and a compassionate approach to working with students with disabilities.
This full-time role offers a competitive salary of $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.
