Job Title: Psychologist II, Licensed

Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) is seeking a licensed psychologist to provide mental health services to infants and their families during hospitalization in the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU) and Cardiovascular Acute (CV Acute) units.

Job Summary:

The selected candidate will provide mental health evaluation and treatment for infants and families, as well as mental health consultation in the Fetal Maternal Center and Fetal Cardiology program to pregnant individuals with a fetal cardiac condition identified prenatally. Additionally, the candidate will provide primary supervision to psychology postdoctoral fellows.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide mental health evaluation and treatment for infants and families during hospitalization in the CTICU or CV Acute units.
  • Provide mental health consultation in the Fetal Maternal Center and Fetal Cardiology program to pregnant individuals with a fetal cardiac condition identified prenatally.
  • Provide primary supervision to psychology postdoctoral fellows.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of prior licensed experience providing and/or supervising clinical services to children and families.
  • Independently provides psychological services for children and families coping with pediatric mental health and/or medical conditions.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in all areas for scope of practice and treatment modalities.
  • Demonstrates the capacity to provide case consultation and/or supervision for other trainees/staff/faculty in the assessment of high-risk clinical situations and intervention plans.
  • Held a key role in program development, clinical supervision, increasing clinical capacity, clinical coordination, and/or department/division/hospital committee.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Education/Licensure/Certification:
  • Ph.D., Ed.D, or Psy.D. in Clinical, School, or Developmental Psychology from an APA-accredited graduate program.
  • Licensed Psychologist, State of California in good standing.
  • BLS Certification required.
  • American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) certification or eligible is preferred.
