Veterinary Technology Instructor

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Veterinary Technology Instructor to join our faculty team at Foothill College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching veterinary technology students in various subjects, including anatomy and physiology, radiology, nursing skills, and pharmacology. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in veterinary technology, excellent teaching skills, and the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
Responsibilities- Teach veterinary technology students in lecture and laboratory settings, including anatomy and physiology, radiology, nursing skills, and pharmacology.
- Develop and implement curriculum to meet the needs of veterinary technology students.
- Assess student learning and provide feedback to students.
- Participate in program-specific committees and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee animal care, including the evaluation of program animals and the day-to-day husbandry of the program animals.
- Take student communications on weekends and holidays regarding animal wellbeing.
- Participate in professional growth activities and stay current with industry developments.
- Graduate of an AVMA accredited veterinary technology program.
- Valid California State license as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT).
- Minimum 6 years of in-clinic experience ending within the past two years.
- Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of community college students, faculty and staff.
The successful candidate will work in an indoor office environment and will be required to perform physical abilities such as hearing and speaking to exchange information, vision sufficient to read various materials, dexterity of hands and fingers to perform tasks, and lifting and carrying objects up to 20 lbs.
