About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Utility Worker to join our team at Pregis. As a key member of our production team, you will play a critical role in maintaining consumable inventories, aiding in 5S housekeeping efforts, and preparing make-ready materials as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Readies all make-ready material as required, including mounting plates, glue pads, and gathering materials at press for next make-ready before the make-ready begins.
  • Maintains press roller and cylinders in inventory by keeping new rollers in a ready state behind assigned presses.
  • Assures used rollers are reworked in a timely fashion.
  • Maintains bearing inventories for all rollers used within the pressroom.
  • Maintains plant cleanliness through assigned cleaning projects.
  • Maintains the solvent, glue, and oil areas in a safe and orderly fashion.
  • Maintains all waste and oil products safely and in proper containment, ensuring all waste is packaged properly for pick up.
  • Maintains an orderly, clean, and efficient space in the warehouse for inventorying new and used consumables.
  • Changes glue totes when required.
  • Assists press crews in obtaining consumables when required.
  • Actively engages in Pregis' apprenticeship program to ensure continuous improvement of self and company.
  • Ensures compliance with all safety and work rules and regulations, maintaining departmental housekeeping standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to take coaching well and communicate respectfully with others.
  • Promotes a positive teamwork culture.
  • Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate with team members and during shift transitions.
  • Knowledgeable of safety requirements and guidelines in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work instructions, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement culture.
Working Conditions
  • Exposure to moving equipment.
  • Inside work.
  • Heat may exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Humidity may exceed 80%.
  • Noise may exceed 85dB+.
  • Personal Protective Equipment required.
Physical Characteristics
  • Frequent standing and stooping.
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling (up to 50 lbs.).
Qualifications, Education, and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Good mathematical skills.
