Summary:
The Environmental, Health and Safety Manager ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. The EH&S Manager demonstrates the ability to influence change through effective communication and collaboration, providing clear and consistent messages and programs supporting a culture of health, safety, and environmental awareness. The EH&S Manager is also responsible for managing the silver plating and electro-tinning production processes and personnel to ensure safe and timely production of plated materials.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Develop relationships with leadership and employees to ensure EH&S policies and procedures are being applied and followed.
• Working with site management, shares best practices across the organization.
• Identify areas of improvement, lead development of improvement initiatives, and establish EH&S action plans to achieve set objectives and targets.
• Serves as a subject matter expert on environmental, health, safety and sustainability issues.
• Compile and publish reports as required.
• Advise and support site management/operational staff on all EH&S activities, communicating initiatives, and establishing/updating and disseminating documentation relating to the EH&S.
• Champion initiatives, focusing on preventive actions, that identify and communicate facility risk exposure, prioritizing risk reduction needs and ensuring closure of recommendations to reduce risk.
• Leads investigation of safety related accidents or incidents (including near misses) to identify root cause(s) and implementation of effective corrective/preventive actions.
• Monitor and ensure compliance to local, state, and federal EH&S regulations.
• Maintain all required environmental, safety and health permits.
• Plans and ensures delivery of training programs for regulatory mandated requirements as well as site specific EH&S training.
• Audit the effectiveness, quality, and presenter delivery of all required safety training.
• Ensure regular risk assessments are conducted on all processes and equipment and recommend appropriate controls when hazards or potential hazards are identified.
• Compile and publish monthly, quarterly and annual reports on site health and safety performance, EH&S issues, regulatory compliance and personnel training.
• Oversees handling, storage, and shipment of hazardous wastes, maintaining compliance with all local/state/federal regulations.
• Partners with HR on all workers comp issues.
• Maintains all contractor management systems (e.g., ISNetworld, Avetta, etc.) and assists with completion of customer qualification forms.
• Partners with third party contractors to maintain the manufacturing wastewater treatment plant.
• Manages the silver plating and electro-tinning production processes and personnel, to ensure timely delivery of plated components and sustainment of safe plating procedures. (Approximately 5 hourly direct reports).
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Required: Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or other relevant technical discipline. 7 plus years of proven experience in EH&S management. EH&S technical work in a manufacturing operations environment. Familiarity with al aspects of EH&S management, including environmental sustainability and corporate guidance. Knowledge of ISO and OHSHA standards Strong communication and leadership skillsPreferred: CSP, CIH, REM or other nationally recognized certifications.

Salary: $90-$110K
