Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership Role: Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Risk Application Operations support group, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services and meeting business objectives.
  • Issue Detection and Troubleshooting: Lead the detection and troubleshooting of issues affecting normal operations of our Risk services, including deploying and maintaining UNIX/Linux clusters, adding and removing application Web Services, managing the coherence cache farm, and tracking running Risk application batch jobs.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with a team of associates globally, assigned projects, on-call escalations, service continuity, and requests for immediate production or client assistance.
  • Process Development: Collaborate with product strategy, development, and technology groups to develop processes and operating procedures, monitor and triage problems, support the technology roadmap, and address technology debt.
  • High-Performance Culture: Demonstrate the ability to work efficiently and quickly in supporting critical systems, contributing to a high-performance culture within the organization.
Requirements
  • Unix/Linux Expertise: Possess in-depth knowledge and experience in UNIX/Linux systems, including hands-on Java application support and production and technical assistance for escalated issues.
  • 24x7 Support: Provide 24x7 support of production applications on a rotating basis, participating in the resolution of escalated incident calls.
  • Application Monitoring: Create application monitoring scripts and automate alerts to inform technical and product teams of problems.
  • System Integrity: Oversee and ensure the integrity of production systems on a day-to-day basis to ensure uninterrupted services and meet SLAs.
  • Configuration Management: Responsible for configuration management, continuous integration (CI), static and dynamic code analysis, deployment, and application monitoring.
  • Infrastructure Automation: Automate and evolve infrastructure, server, deployment strategies, and testing to support quick turnaround of deployments.
  • Technical Documentation: Maintain and/or create technical support documentation.
  • Code Installations: Perform code installations working with development and Quality Control to monitor and validate successful implementation or fall back, and perform post-mortems to identify root cause (RCA).
  • Infrastructure Improvement: Continuously improve our infrastructure to be easy to deploy, scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant.
  • Capacity Planning: Participate in capacity planning, tuning systems stability, provisioning, performance, and scaling of the application infrastructure.
