We are seeking a Lead Embedded Systems Engineer to become an integral part of our team. The ideal candidate is a passionate developer who enjoys tackling significant challenges and can enhance our overall software, backend, controls, and electronics strategy. A successful applicant will be adaptable, technically proficient, and possess a strong focus on meeting customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate in the design and development of our embedded software systems.
  • Implement control algorithms for energy-efficient heating and cooling systems.
  • Create User Interfaces that deliver an exceptional user experience across devices and mobile applications.
  • Develop automation scripts for integration and factory testing.
  • Explore and implement wireless communication protocols such as MQTT, BACnet, and Matter.
  • Work collaboratively with business and product teams to define requirements for our product roadmap.
  • Establish systems and processes for continuous deployment, testing, and manufacturing improvements.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Embedded C.
  • Experience in firmware development within production environments.
  • A degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent, with over 7 years of experience.
  • Expertise in designing RTOS-based and bare metal applications.
  • Strong knowledge of communication protocols such as UART, SPI, and I2C.
  • Excellent debugging skills and familiarity with common debugging tools like JTAG.
  • A proven history of delivering high-quality electronics and software in consumer products under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics.
  • Proficient in Python and other automation languages.

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience with AWS IoT Core and related services.
  • Experience in launching one or more IoT consumer products.
  • Familiarity with wireless communication SoCs, particularly for WiFi and BLE.
  • Experience with Altium or similar ECAD software.
