Job Description

The Salvation Army Central Territory is seeking a skilled Housing Stability Case Manager to join our team.

Job Summary:

As a Housing Stability Case Manager, you will provide case management services for individuals and families receiving housing services through The Salvation Army. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct client interviews, complete required documentation, and maintain client files.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct client interviews to assess needs for assistance
  • Complete all required documentation and maintain client files, including intake, skills inventories, and resources
  • Maintain client documentation on the Homeless Management Information System and SIMS (client information management systems)
  • Educate clients about available community resources and refer clients to appropriate resources as needed
  • Provide financial literacy and budget counseling, as well as case management referrals for supportive services
  • Accurately and efficiently process paperwork for eligible participants in accordance with funding source parameters
  • Act as an advocate for clients with interdisciplinary team members
  • Provide 90-day follow-up after successful program completion
  • Follow The Salvation Army and program policies, procedures, and emergency procedures

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of two years' prior case work or related experience
  • College coursework in human services preferred
  • Ability to be flexible, prioritize, and work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills, and the ability to access data systems via a web-based system
  • Administrative skills, including utilization of standard office equipment, data entry, 10-key, attention to details, and filing
  • Good communication skills, both written and spoken, and ability to maintain effective working relationships
  • Mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, use of common fractions, and decimals
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters
  • Attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills
  • Strong independent judgment

Working Conditions:

The work environment is an office setting, and the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm. Pay range for this position is $19 - $21 per hour depending on experience.
