IT Support Specialist

As an IT Support Specialist, you will deliver prompt and efficient support for information technology systems. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting customers both remotely and in-person with system configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Installing and maintaining hardware and software.
  • Conducting remote troubleshooting to resolve issues swiftly.
  • Helping new team members set up their workstations effectively.
  • Upgrading and maintaining equipment as necessary.
  • Collaborating with current vendors to assess new technologies.
  • Responding to urgent and ad hoc requests as they arise.
  • Monitoring system performance and providing recommendations for efficiency improvements.

  • Testing network connections to ensure reliability.
  • Training end users on IT policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in testing software installations and applications.
  • Engaging in hands-on troubleshooting and effective communication with team members and leadership.
  • Understanding a diverse range of technical specification documents.
  • Utilizing a ticketing system to assist staff with daily hardware and software issues.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in laboratory or medical healthcare IT/Desktop support.
  • 5+ years of experience in server and hardware installation and maintenance, including Linux and MS systems.
  • 5+ years of experience in local desktop installation and administration.
  • 3+ years of experience participating in vendor technical meetings, including network and VPN support.
  • 3+ years of experience working with helpdesk ticketing systems, prioritizing and responding to user requests.
  • General knowledge of application support.
