Job Title: Director of Engineering

The Director of Engineering is a key leadership position responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive Strategic Maintenance Management Plan that ensures the safe, productive, and efficient operation of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire and life safety systems within the facility building infrastructure and operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a maintenance management plan that aligns with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Lead a team of engineers and technicians to ensure the maintenance and repair of building systems, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement energy efficiency projects and renewable energy initiatives.
  • Conduct value engineering studies to optimize project budgets and ensure compliance with client requirements.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of maintenance and engineering activities.
  • Stay up-to-date with local building codes and regulations to ensure compliance and recommend improvements.
  • Provide capital and operational project support, including design reviews and recommendations on equipment selection and technology solutions.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and maintenance teams to identify and implement industry best practices and innovation.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Minimum 10+ years of maintenance field experience and 4-5 years of working knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance and other maintenance management strategies.
  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Certified Plant Engineer (CPE), or other similar accreditations preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulatory requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, verbal and written communication skills, planning and scheduling, problem-solving, project management experience, and proven organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and advanced Excel skills.
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management System and Energy Management System programs, specialty predictive equipment, and other equipment and tools.
