Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Administrative Services Department as the **Administrative Services Director**. This key role will oversee the in-plant printing operation, providing printing and distribution services to all schools and departments, as well as external clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer the district's in-plant printing operation to provide value-added products and services to schools and departments on a cost recovery basis.
  • Coordinate the Printing Services Department's insourcing initiative through the development of partnerships with other local governmental agencies via interlocal agreements to augment district services and to cultivate external revenue sources for the district.
  • Establish and adjust price schedules and user fees through the development of budgeted hourly rates and competitive cost benchmarking.
  • Administer the district's records management program to ensure the preservation and retention of all vital and legacy records (both digital and analog) in compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Oversee the development of the district's record retention and destruction schedule and provide assistance, training, and education to site-based managers to ensure district-wide compliance.
  • Oversee the operation of the district's records warehouse and satellite storage facilities to ensure the integrity of district records and implement digital document conversion solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the district's business operations.
  • Consult and advise clients on complex special projects and mobilize all human and fiscal resources necessary for their accomplishment.
  • Direct the customer education program and marketing strategy for the department to increase awareness of services provided and expand business opportunities with clients.
  • Analyze customer needs and market trends to develop customized business solutions to achieve the long-term objectives of the organization.
  • Direct and perform all complex fiscal, human resource, and administrative functions for the Administrative Services Department. Research and implement new technologies, equipment, and business practices to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of departmental performance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree; MBA preferred.
  • 7+ years of management experience in a business environment preferred.
  • Proficiency in PeopleSoft, SAP, Microsoft Office, and office equipment.
Leadership Responsibilities

This role will lead a team of professionals and be responsible for managing a department or multiple major disciplines. The successful candidate will establish operational objectives and work plans, delegate assignments to subordinate management and staff, and allocate resources according to priorities.

Work Complexity/Independent Judgment

This role will require the selection and application of technical and detailed guidelines, as well as independent judgment to identify, select, and apply the most appropriate methods and interpret precedent.

Budget Authority

This role will participate in a group plan and/or budget development.

Problem Solving

This role will make decisions on both routine and non-routine matters with some latitude, but still subject to approval. The successful candidate will recommend new solutions to problems and improve existing methods or generate new ideas.

Impact of Decisions

Decisions made in this role will have a moderate impact on the facility/department or division, causing increased satisfaction or dissatisfaction; producing efficiencies or delays; promoting or inhibiting personal intellectual or professional development; and/or contributing to financial gain or expense.

Communication/Interactions

This role will collaborate and solve problems with others to resolve issues, clarify or interpret complex information/policies, and provide initial screening/negotiations without approval authority.

Customer Relationships

This role will lead others in the resolution of highly sensitive and confidential issues on behalf of the department. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor, become involved in the customer's decision-making process, and present alternatives and information and apply persuasion and negotiation skills in the resolution of problems.

Working/Environmental Conditions

This role will involve some exposure to moderate risk of accident and require following basic safety precautions.
