Nursing Professional Development Consultant

As a Nursing Professional Development Consultant at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a critical role in assessing and evaluating professional nursing practices to maintain, improve, and develop them. You will be responsible for managing the design, implementation, and evaluation of professional nursing education and development programs in the California Region. Your expertise will be utilized to disseminate evidence-based practice and manage best practice models that improve nursing and organizational performance.
This is an ongoing opportunity to work 40 hours per week, with a shift of 8 hours per day. You will be required to travel approximately 35 percent of the time.
This role is part of a Labor/Management Partnership environment, and you will be working closely with senior executives and nursing executives to align nursing education, professional development, and professional practice with strategic organizational goals and objectives.
Key responsibilities include developing short, intermediate, and long-range education and development plans, managing and developing strategic planning for professional nursing education and development, and planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating collaborative and innovative education and continuous learning strategies and programs.
You will also be responsible for assessing priority education and professional development needs, providing linkage between identified educational needs and current and planned programs, and providing consultative services as an expert resource to external and internal professional partners and stakeholders.

Key qualifications include a Master's degree in nursing, education, or a healthcare-related field, and a minimum of three years of experience in nursing research, process improvement, clinical management, or a closely related healthcare field. You must also have a Registered Nurse License (California) and be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred qualifications include experience in utilizing communication, consultation, facilitation, influencing, negotiation, and interpersonal skills on an expert level with a variety of management and other personnel, including external partners and groups.
You will also be required to utilize multiple software programs, video conferencing, interactive media, and interactive distance learning and website and network materials and resources.
