Human Resources Assistant

The Human Resources Assistant will collaborate with hiring managers to develop and execute recruitment strategies that prioritize candidate quality and organizational fit. This role will report to the Senior Manager of Human Resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to develop recruitment strategies that prioritize candidate quality and organizational fit.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to potential candidates with a primary focus on operational excellence, proactive, competitive, and cost-effective recruitment solutions.
  • Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding process to provide an exceptional candidate experience.
  • Efficiently manage candidate hiring and onboarding through HRIS and applicant tracking.
  • Leverage all traditional and non-traditional sourcing and recruitment marketing, including professional events, job boards, social media, employee referrals, etc.
  • Develop and maintain a pool of qualified candidates to meet current and future staffing requirements.
  • Coordinate new hire orientations in collaboration with HRBP and coordinate with hiring managers to ensure a seamless transition for new hires.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and assist in efficiently scheduling applicant interviews.
  • Provide regular updates on recruitment progress and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in recruitment and onboarding.
  • Provide administrative/clerical support (filing, scheduling, scanning, etc.) for the HR department.
  • Assist with benefit enrollment.
  • Participate in HR staff meetings and attend other meetings as needed.
  • Maintain HRIS records and compile reports from the database.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Two years+ of experience in the HR field is preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Must be detail-oriented, have a professional attitude, and have strong organization and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.
Standards of Performance:
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common documentation.
  • Ability to write and present information to management in a reasonable manner.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret a wide variety of instructions and deal with several variables.
  • Excellent math and communication skills.
