Job Summary

This role supports the Leave Administration team in managing employee leave programs, including FMLA, short-term disability, personal leaves, education leaves, and military leaves. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and tracking absence status, documentation, and return-to-work dates, as well as communicating with team members and leaders daily.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and coordinate integrated claims management for Short-Term Disability (STD), Long-Term Disability (LTD), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and Personal Leaves in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
  • Serve as a liaison between treatment providers, ergonomic consultants, vendors, staff, management, and other HR departments to protect employee rights and reduce liability exposure.
  • Collaborate with client groups and HR departments to provide specialty services, such as notification of employee rights and review of leave requests, ensuring equitable treatment of employees.
  • Facilitate effective communication between management and employees regarding leaves to promote employee morale and maintain a productive work environment.
  • Calculate and code hours owed into the payroll system, answer customer questions, and provide documentation as required.
  • Manage the restricted work program for disabled workers, overseeing staff placements and ensuring adherence to restrictions and schedules.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws and pertinent legal decisions related to leave administration.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of relevant experience in FMLA/STD, computer experience using Claims Management software, insurance background, retirement plan administration, or benefits experience
