About the Role:
As the Assistant Financial Director, you will be instrumental in managing the financial operations and reporting activities of the banking institution. This position presents a chance to lead a dynamic finance team and significantly contribute to the financial health and expansion of the bank.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily accounting functions of the bank, encompassing accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- Guarantee timely and precise preparation of financial statements, regulatory documentation, and other financial reports in alignment with accounting standards and regulatory mandates.
- Establish and enforce internal controls, policies, and procedures to protect assets, uphold the integrity of financial data, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Oversee the budgeting and forecasting process, collaborating closely with department leaders to create accurate projections and track performance against goals.
- Conduct financial assessments and performance reviews to uncover trends, opportunities, and areas needing enhancement.
- Coordinate external audits and regulatory reviews, ensuring prompt completion and resolution of audit findings.
- Offer financial counsel and support to senior management, including financial result analysis, strategic planning, and decision-making processes.
- Stay informed on changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry developments, ensuring the bank's financial practices remain compliant and competitive.
- Lead and mentor finance personnel, promoting a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and strategic goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA certification is preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity, ideally within the banking sector.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements for financial institutions.
- Expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting methodologies.
- Familiarity with financial systems and software, preferably banking software such as FIS or Fiserv.
- Exceptional leadership and management abilities, with a talent for motivating and developing a high-performing team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with meticulous attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
