Position Summary:
The Host Manager is accountable for overseeing the reception and seating arrangements for all patrons, including both those with reservations and walk-in guests. This role is crucial in managing the reservation system effectively while optimizing seating capacity during each service period.
Engages with guests, team members, and supervisors in a respectful and friendly manner to foster an atmosphere of exceptional hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Uphold professional appearance standards as outlined in the Tao Group Hospitality Employee Handbook.
Proactively identify and fulfill all guest needs.
Ensure the entrance area and overall venue maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization.
Adhere to health department regulations and company sanitation protocols.
Efficiently manage reservation requests and accommodate walk-in guests to enhance service flow.
Handle incoming phone inquiries and provide accurate information to guests.
Strategically manage the reservation system to ensure a seamless dining experience.
Prepare the dining area for service, including initial table setups.
Organize the front desk area, complete side-work, and follow opening/closing procedures as directed by management, including:
Ensuring all menus are printed and ready for distribution.
Keeping menu books updated and organized.
Completing opening and closing side-work as assigned.
Reporting any damage or issues with equipment or furnishings to management immediately.
Participate in daily pre-service meetings and training sessions.
Learn through observation and collaboration with team members while exemplifying leadership.
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor.
Demonstrate familiarity with Tao Group Hospitality and its associated brands.
Collaborate effectively with team members and provide support as needed.
Training Requirements:
Completion of in-venue Maitre d' training provided by Tao Group Hospitality.
Minimum Qualifications:
Prior experience in the hospitality industry.
Experience as a Maitre d' or within the Tao Group Hospitality framework.
Background in a high-volume restaurant, nightclub, or lounge setting.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Ability to stand, lift, and bend for extended periods.
Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Role may involve repetitive motions.
Exposure to hot kitchen elements and cleaning agents.
Must maintain focus in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including various shifts such as days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
