Job Description

Morgan Advanced Materials is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our quality management team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet or exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and manage quality processes, methods, and management systems to ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and AS 9100 certifications.
  • Coordinate and lead customer complaints using 8D methodology, working with cross-functional teams to determine root cause and corrective actions.
  • Manage and participate in Material Review Board for nonconforming materials, analyzing data for improvements.
  • Lead and participate in AQP activities relating to quality, including specification review, processing requirements, and sampling plans.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to manufacturing processes, methods, and controls through data trending and analysis.
  • Lead and participate in internal, customer, and third-party audits and process reviews to standards, including ISO 9001, AS9100, and AS13100.
  • Manage and complete PPAP utilizing customer-defined portals as applicable.
  • Manage and participate in customer Zero Defect Programs (ZDP).
  • Evaluate, troubleshoot, and solve production/material problems on the shop floor.
  • Assist in training shop floor associates on quality processes and methods.
  • Assume responsibility for safety and environmental issues associated with quality processes and equipment.
  • Represent quality in daily GEMBA walks, including follow-up on actions.
  • Provide local daily direction to the sub-team with the STM quality department, including training plans, objective setting, and periodic reviews.
Requirements:
  • BS degree in Material Science or Engineering, or relevant experience in a quality role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 5 years of related broad-focused quality experience in a manufacturing environment utilizing CNC & Manual Machining, continuous/batch ovens, or other green-end manufacturing capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems in an ISO 9001/AS 9100/AS13100 environment.
  • Knowledge of Kaizen and Lean/Six-Sigma Manufacturing techniques.
  • Experience with developing and documenting procedures.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Quality orientation and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience working with high-performance teams.
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution skills.
  • Ability to clearly present ideas and reports in written and verbal format.
  • Ability to work well with subordinates, peers, and superiors in all departments of the company.
  • Ability to work well with external contacts of the company.
  • Good time management, planning, and negotiation skills.
  • Citizenship of the United States, permanent resident alien of the United States, or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) as defined by 22CFR120.15.
