Logistics Inventory Supervisor

The Logistics Inventory Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with property accountability and audit standards as mandated by agency regulations. This position involves collaboration with the Senior Logistics Staff Officer or their designated representative to align inventory management efforts with the strategic priorities set forth by the Office of Logistics.

The incumbent will conduct thorough inventories of goods and materials within their designated area, either independently or as part of a larger team. They may also assume the role of a Responsible Officer if deemed necessary by senior logistics personnel. The role requires exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills, as it involves routine physical inventory tasks, record organization, and interaction with a diverse range of individuals.

Key Responsibilities

· The Inventory Management and Property Control function is multifaceted, and the responsibilities outlined below may vary based on the office of assignment.

· Supervise and guide other contractor personnel in the execution of assigned tasks.

· Coordinate with the Senior Logistics Staff Officer or their designated representative to ensure that efforts are in line with the priorities of the Office of Logistics.

· Validate routine inventory requests by confirming the receipt of goods and materials against established requirements.

· Provide timely status updates to designated personnel and Office of Logistics representatives as necessary. Maintain electronic records with the status and location of items, and manage hand-receipts.

· Process various electronic transactions related to property and equipment within the sponsor's record-keeping system.

· Create and maintain electronic records to support the generation of auditable financial statements.

· Assist in the property inventory process, reconcile discrepancies, and retrieve information from various databases to ensure accurate tracking and inventory management.

· Support the maintenance of vehicular allowances and vehicle tracking databases.

· Aid in the management and tracking of agency telephones.

· Perform additional related duties as assigned.

· Process vehicle requests and mileage reports.

· Prepare usage charts for reporting purposes.

· Distribute parking permits and related devices.

· Manage the issuance of component vehicles for short-term use and track keys.

Qualifications and Skills

· This position requires a TS/SCI Security clearance with Polygraph.

· Fundamental knowledge of logistics procedures and policies relevant to the area of assignment.

· Familiarity with various logistics databases and applications.

· Basic understanding of financial statements and their interpretation.

· Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively address routine inquiries from customers.

· Ability to cultivate professional relationships within the work unit and with counterparts in other offices.

· Competence in effectively resolving routine customer issues.

· Adaptability to changing work requirements and priorities.

· Good judgment and initiative in recognizing appropriate actions for task completion.

· Commitment to delivering a high level of service.

· Ability to engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

· Depending on the location, forklift certification may be required for moving materials within a warehouse setting.
