Position Summary

We are in search of a driven and experienced General Manager to oversee the daily functions of our limited-service hotel. As the Standard Bearer, your role will be to ensure seamless hotel operations, maintain top-tier guest satisfaction, and achieve financial objectives. You will lead a dedicated team to deliver exceptional customer service while cultivating a positive workplace atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all hotel operations, including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and sales.
  • Develop and uphold a positive guest experience protocol, ensuring all staff deliver excellent service.
  • Monitor financial performance and make necessary adjustments to meet revenue and profit targets.
  • Establish and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and guest satisfaction.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and development of team members, ensuring they possess the skills and knowledge required for their roles.
  • Create a supportive work environment that encourages teamwork and employee engagement.
  • Manage inventory and procure supplies to maintain adequate levels while minimizing waste.
  • Conduct regular meetings with department heads to discuss operations and strategies.
  • Address key property issues, including capital projects and customer service enhancements.
  • Handle guest complaints and oversee service recovery efforts.
  • Prepare and manage the hotel's annual operating budget, marketing strategy, and capital budget.
  • Review daily reports and make informed decisions based on performance metrics.
  • Maximize room yield and hotel revenue through innovative sales strategies and yield management.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports for ownership and stakeholders.
  • Assist in procuring operating supplies and liaising with third-party vendors for essential services.
  • Coordinate with department heads to ensure smooth execution of all activities.
  • Develop and mentor the Hotel Executive team to promote career growth.
  • Establish a proactive human resources function to enhance employee retention, motivation, and compliance with labor regulations.
  • Implement an effective open-door communication system across all departments.
  • Promote and maintain the company culture while educating team members about our values.
  • Respond to audits to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Engage with corporate clients and participate in new client acquisition alongside the sales team as needed.
  • Ensure quality operations through adherence to internal and external audit standards.
  • Maintain safety practices for employees and guests, ensuring proper emergency and security procedures are in place.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements, including the Occupational Health & Safety Act and fire regulations.
  • Communicate policy changes and instructions effectively.
  • Make decisions that align with the best interests of the hotel and management.
  • Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive team and Ownership.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or an MBA is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the hospitality sector.
  • At least 3 years of hotel management experience with a proven track record of success and knowledge of hotel operations and sales.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proven leadership skills and team management experience.
  • Ability to manage financial performance and achieve revenue goals.
  • Solid understanding of P&L statements and the ability to develop impactful strategies.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and hotel management software.
  • Flexible work schedule is required.
