Job Title: DevSecOps Research and Development Engineer

We are seeking highly motivated and self-starting DevSecOps Research and Development Engineers to join our team in the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement secure automation solutions for development, testing, and production environments.
  • Manage continuous integration and delivery pipeline to maximize efficiency.
  • Improve systems through updates and optimizations using various technologies.
  • Present program overviews, proposals, and technical briefings at internal and external events.
  • Coordinate with sponsors and team members to identify risks, issues, requirements, and design solutions for project-level activity on a day-to-day basis.
Requirements:
  • Strong experience with Linux-based infrastructures, Linux/Unix administration.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and Ansible.
  • Experience with version control software such as Git.
  • Experience with open-source technologies and cloud services such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Stellar troubleshooting skills with the ability to spot issues before they become problems.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain protocol and processes with team and management.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working with Atlassian products (JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence).
  • Working knowledge in Java, C/C++, and Matlab.
  • Familiarity with VMWare virtualization tools.
  • Familiarity with GitLab.
  • Experience with databases such as SQL, PostreQL, and MySQL.
