Job Summary:
Sutter Health is seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Representative to join our team. As a Patient Access Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth registration process for patients, while also providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and enter patient demographic and insurance information into the medical center's registration computer system.
- Verify patient information and resolve any discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure accurate and efficient registration processes.
- Identify patients who may require financial assistance and refer them to appropriate resources.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient information, including demographic and insurance data.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent education/experience.
- One year of prior hospital or medical registration experience.
- Excellent English communication skills in both written and verbal formats.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completed a minimum of the Microsoft Level 1 classes in Outlook, or be able to pass the PFS proficiency exam – level 1.
- Knowledge of Government regulations and requirements, managed care contracts, and third-party requirements.
Working Conditions:
This is a per diem/casual position, with varied shifts and every other weekend requirement. The pay range for this role is $28.99 to $38.90 per hour.
