Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Managing Director to lead our Human Resources Services division. The successful candidate will provide strategic direction and guidance to HR leaders and managers, and will be responsible for implementing special projects, policies, and process changes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute the division's implementation strategies, and provide strategic and operational advice to the Deputy Commissioner.
  • Project Management: Prepare and implement comprehensive work/implementation plans, and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Policy Development: Develop and monitor qualitative and quantitative reports on implementation efforts, and ensure policies and policy changes are communicated from the top down in the division.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Provide inspiration, motivation, and guidance to HR Services leaders and managers, and build relationships and demonstrate influence with staff at all organizational levels.
  • Analysis and Problem-Solving: Analyze problematic situations and occurrences, and provide solutions.
Requirements:
  • Education: A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, and four years of progressively responsible experience in a large governmental agency, business firm, civic or community organization operating in the area of social services.
  • Experience: One year of experience at the administrative or managerial level, or equivalent experience and education.
  • Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, demonstrated skill and comfort in proactively building relationships and demonstrating influence with staff at all organizational levels, excellent analytical skills, strong project management skills, and the ability to work well under stress/pressure with restrictive deadlines.
