Role Summary:

The Patient Communication Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering communication support services, including clerical tasks and scheduling for patients. This position involves the collection, assessment, submission, processing, and updating of sensitive patient information, while ensuring compliance with various workflow protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a high volume of inbound inquiries through various channels, including phone calls and electronic medical records.
  • Schedule patient appointments in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
  • Address and resolve patient access challenges effectively.
  • Respond to inquiries from patients and healthcare providers.
  • Make independent decisions to transfer or refer calls as necessary in urgent situations.
  • Utilize electronic medical records and reporting tools to navigate, interpret, and document patient information accurately.
  • Register patients and maintain accurate records of interactions and resolutions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Skills:

  • Proficiency in computer applications, particularly MS Office.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Flexibility to work varying hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not mandatory.

Education and Experience:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with 1-2 years of experience in a call center or customer service role, preferably within a healthcare setting.
