Fiber Network Director Job Description

Cleveland Utilities, a municipal utility providing electric, water, wastewater, and broadband services, is seeking a Fiber Network Director. This position requires a strong background in FTTH/FTTP telecommunications business and technology, with the ability to address and resolve complex problems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Management: Manage all aspects of CUA Fiber/Broadband project, including construction, installations, network, DIA, and staffing.
  • Vendor Management: Work with vendors, contracts, or internal resources to define scope and technical requirements.
  • Financial Management: Manage budget and forecast.
  • Commercial and Residential Sales: Responsible for Commercial and Residential Sales and Customer Take-Rate, Customer Care, Technical Support, Installation and Repair, Core and Access Networks, and other areas critical to the success of the market.
  • Market Strategy: Set market goals, measure performance against those goals, and develop budgets and plans designed to achieve those goals.
  • Operational Efficiency: Develop and ensure the successful execution of compelling operational strategies and plans to improve market revenues, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Competitive Analysis: Monitor competitive activity and devise strategies and plans to retain customers and improve market advantage.
  • Communication: Regularly and effectively communicate with customers, community leaders, team members, shared service colleagues, and company leadership regarding the Company and the market.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Manage and resolve customer escalations and ensure market colleagues are committed to envisioning and delivering premier customer satisfaction and are fulfilling that mission.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field (from an accredited college/university): Required. Master's degree (from an accredited college/university): Preferred.
  • Experience: Ten years of job-related experience, with increasing responsibility in the telecommunications industry.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of installation, repair, central office, and outside plant functions. Knowledge of OSP engineering and functions. Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with QuickBase.
  • Personal Requirements: Valid Tennessee driver's license.
