We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursing Assistant Trainee to join our team at the Good Samaritan Society. As a member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing holistic client-centered care that promotes independence and client rights in a safe, caring, and efficient manner.

Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant Trainee is enrolled in a learning experience designed to develop the confidence and competence to serve as a caregiver. Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, the trainee will provide personal care to clients, assist with basic health care needs, and deliver other personal care as assigned. The trainee will also assist with housekeeping, laundry services, and other duties as assigned within the non-certified nursing assistant role.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care to clients, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, undressing, and obtaining vital signs
  • Assist with basic health care needs, such as transferring, repositioning, range of motion exercises, and walking
  • Deliver other personal care as assigned, such as providing psychosocial support and delivering nutritional supplements
  • Assist with housekeeping, laundry services, and other duties as assigned within the non-certified nursing assistant role
Qualifications

We are seeking a high school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care is preferred. The trainee must be able to work within the role of a non-certified nursing assistant and must be enrolled in a formal nursing assistant program.
