Job Title: Restaurant Server

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and friendly Restaurant Server to join our team at the Seattle Airport Marriott Hotel. As a Restaurant Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a positive dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome guests warmly, suggest specials and menu items
  • Check the restaurant for proper setup and complete necessary sidework
  • Be knowledgeable of menu items, their ingredients, and preparation methods
  • Use suggestive selling techniques to enhance the guest experience
  • Check Micros machines to ensure they are set to the proper menu
  • Keep tables and chairs clean and presentable at all times
  • Follow procedures for taking guest orders and serving food and beverages
  • Check food before serving to ensure it meets quality standards
  • Check back with guests periodically to ensure satisfaction
  • Report any problems or guest complaints to management
  • Have complete knowledge of daily hotel events and hours of operation
  • Present guest checks and collect payment
  • Maintain good telephone techniques and have complete knowledge of the micros system
  • Accurately and efficiently fill out reports and vouchers
  • Maintain a clean and appealing facility in compliance with health code and safety standards
  • Prepare for the next shift by restocking necessary items
  • Assist Dining Room Attendant/Bus Help with setup and clearing of tables
  • Declare tips according to IRS standards
  • Be familiar with hotel facilities and their location and hours of operation
  • Provide positive, professional guest contact and answer guest questions and solve problems promptly
  • Assure that sufficient supplies of necessary service are available
  • Ensure proper communication between kitchen personnel, management, and servers

Requirements:

  • Food Safety Handling Certification and TIPS Certification preferred
  • Experience with MICROS system preferred
  • Must be flexible enough to work any shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 3 years restaurant server experience required in a hospitality setting
  • Able to communicate accurately and effectively in verbal and written form with guests and employees
  • Basic mathematics skills required
  • Accurate short-term memory
