Position Summary:

We are in search of an enthusiastic and innovative Educational Programs Coordinator to lead, organize, and manage our educational initiatives. This role involves overseeing a dedicated team of educators, crafting program content, and collaborating with local partners to broaden the museum's outreach and influence. This is a full-time role reporting to the Executive Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, execute, and assess educational programs, workshops, and events tailored for various audiences, including schools, families, and adults.
  • Create engaging and relevant content for programs that reflect the museum's mission and vision.
  • Supervise and guide a team of educators, interns, and volunteers.
  • Partner with community organizations to develop and implement outreach programs beyond the museum.
  • Build and maintain community partnerships to enhance the museum's educational offerings.
  • Manage the departmental budget, including grant writing and reporting.
  • Gather, analyze, and report data related to program participation and community impact.
  • Conduct ongoing research to remain informed about trends and best practices in art education.
  • Work with the marketing team to promote programs and events through various channels.
  • Oversee the creation and upkeep of program resources and materials.
  • Ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures during all programs and events.
  • Act as a liaison between the museum and educational institutions and community organizations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in education, art education, museum studies, or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in program development and management, ideally within a museum or cultural institution.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory abilities, with a talent for motivating and managing a team.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging diverse audiences.
  • Creative mindset with a strong passion for art education and community engagement.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced in database management.
  • Familiarity with grant writing and reporting processes.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
  • Successful completion of a background check.

Compensation: $28,000 to $42,000 annually.
