Site Lead Job Description

The Site Lead plays a crucial role in the day-to-day operation and maintenance of utility scale wind and solar power plants. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position is responsible for managing the site's activities, ensuring maximum availability and reliability, and promoting a safe and proactive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and comply with company and project environmental, health, and safety programs.
  • Contribute to site safety performance improvement by holding workers and themselves accountable for safety.
  • Ensure the plant provides maximum availability and reliability in a safe, economical, and proactive manner.
  • Increase asset optimization and plant profitability within engineering design parameters.
  • Participate in the development and revision of site procedures.
  • Assist with management of work teams through clear communication of expectations.
  • Oversee work crews and participate in operations, maintenance, and warranty activities.
  • Provide leadership that encourages the use of new plant information technology.
  • Communicate regularly with all personnel to ensure satisfaction of internal and external customer requirements.
Requirements:
  • Two-year college or technical school certificate, or 4+ years of related experience or power industry training.
  • Demonstrated experience in power plant operations and maintenance.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to perform all physical requirements of the job.
  • Advanced computer skills utilizing word processing, spreadsheets, email, facility control, management, and reporting systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in wind plant operations and wind turbine experience.
  • Experience in high voltage maintenance and switching.
  • Experience establishing and improving preventative maintenance programs.
