Instructional Assistant/Paraeducator

At Overlake Medical Center, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Instructional Assistant/Paraeducator to join our team. This role is a vital part of our educational program, providing support to students with special needs in a classroom setting.
Job SummaryThe Instructional Assistant/Paraeducator will work closely with the classroom teacher to supervise classroom activities, assist in the development and delivery of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and provide individualized support to students with special needs.
Responsibilities- Assist in the development and implementation of IEPs for students with special needs
- Provide individualized support to students with special needs in a classroom setting
- Work closely with the classroom teacher to supervise classroom activities and ensure a safe and supportive learning environment
- Assist with data collection and progress monitoring for students with special needs
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in supporting students with special needs
- High school graduate and meet Washington State paraprofessional guidelines (2 years of college credit)
- Bachelor's degree in Education or Mental Health field preferred
- Previous experience working with behaviorally disturbed, mentally ill, and/or children with learning disabilities preferred
- Right Response certification within first 6 months of employment
- Non-healthcare CPR and First Aid certifications within first year of employment
- Current WA State driver's license preferred
