About the Role:

As a Medical Support Specialist at BioLife Plasma Services, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our donors. Your primary responsibility will be to determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, which involves conducting medical interviews, reviewing laboratory test results, and managing donor adverse events. You will work closely with the Center Manager and Center Physician to ensure that all medical procedures are followed in accordance with regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Determine donor eligibility by conducting medical interviews and reviewing laboratory test results.
  • Manage donor adverse events and refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs as needed.
  • Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
  • Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER.
  • Support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
  • Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA).
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
  • Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy.
  • Satisfactorily complete the FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
  • Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
