Medical Support Specialist

As a Medical Support Specialist at BioLife Plasma Services, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our donors and patients.
Job SummaryThe Medical Support Specialist is responsible for determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results.
You will work under the direct supervision of the Center Manager and under the supervision of the Center Physician for medical issues.
Key Responsibilities- Donor Eligibility: Determine donor eligibility accurately and in a timely manner, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion.
- Donor Reaction Management: Evaluate and manage donor reaction(s) that occur at the facility, following applicable SOPs.
- Donor Deferral: Manage donor deferral, reviewing test results and notifying donors of unsuitable test results per applicable SOPs.
- Post Donation Information: Initiate and investigate Post Donation Information (PDI), referring to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs as needed.
- Graduate of a recognized educational program
- Minimum of two years in a clinical or hospital setting preferred
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
