Oncology Nurse

The Oncology RN will demonstrate expertise in the nursing process, incorporating elements of holistic family-centered care through data collection, verification, and organization, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Oncology Unit setting, delivering excellent care that reflects compassion, initiative, flexibility, and responsibility.
- Act as a resource and mentor for new and inexperienced nurses as needed.
- Determine priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs, addressing ethical issues surrounding cancer pain management, end-of-life decisions, altered body image, death, and dying.
- Communicate effectively with physician/nurse manager/co-workers about changes in a patient's clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
- Graduate of professional school of nursing.
- Current Montana License as a Registered Nurse.
- BLS certification required.
- Certification in Oncology Nursing preferred.
- Completion of Chemotherapy/Oncology course and competency to hang chemotherapy required six months to one year after hire date.
The ideal candidate will possess cognitive, organizational, and emotional maturity to deal effectively with multiple tasks, stresses, deadlines, difficult situations, and customers. They will also have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide non-judgmental and empathetic patient care and customer relations.
