Job Title: Shelter House Attendant - Domestic Violence AdvocateJob Summary:

The Puyallup Tribe of Indians is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to fill the role of Shelter House Attendant - Domestic Violence Advocate. This position will provide support and advocacy services to survivors of domestic violence and their families, while working collaboratively with the Shelter House Manager and other team members to ensure the provision of high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide emotional support and advocacy services to survivors of domestic violence and their families
  • Assist with daily operations of the shelter, including meal preparation, cleaning, and maintenance
  • Develop and implement individualized service plans for clients
  • Provide crisis intervention and support services as needed
  • Collaborate with community agencies and organizations to provide comprehensive services to clients
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on best practices and policies
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • One year of experience working with survivors of domestic violence or in a related field
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of domestic violence dynamics and trauma-informed care principles
