Position: Licensed Practical Nurse
Per Diem Opportunities Available

Shifts Available: Days (7:00am-3:30pm), Evenings (3:00pm-11:30pm), and Nights (11:00pm-7:30am)

Core Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the highest quality of nursing care for residents/patients, focusing on optimal health maintenance, education, counseling, and collaborative care planning.
  • Integrate knowledge of patient rights and our organizational mission into daily nursing practices.
  • Serve as an advocate for residents, aiding them in developing self-advocacy skills.
  • Timely documentation of resident information and nursing assessments.
  • Conduct thorough nursing evaluations, considering biopsychosocial factors and medical history.
  • Monitor and document residents' conditions, responding appropriately to any changes.
  • Collaborate with dieticians to address any specific nutritional needs.
  • Assess vital signs and communicate any abnormalities to the medical team.
  • Develop individualized crisis intervention plans to ensure resident safety.
  • Engage in the creation of residents' master treatment plans alongside the treatment team.
  • Deliver nursing care in alignment with departmental policies and hospital objectives.
  • Provide effective nursing care, demonstrating clinical judgment and professional competency.
  • Participate in community meetings and group therapy sessions as required.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for residents, families, and staff.
  • Conduct timely resident rounds and accurately document observations.
  • Educate residents and families regarding care plans and treatment.
  • Accurately manage medication orders and maintain medication administration records.
  • Safely administer prescribed medications and treatments, ensuring proper methods are followed.
  • Evaluate resident responses to medications and document as necessary.
  • Assume charge nurse responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant psychiatric nursing experience.
  • Valid Massachusetts RN license.
  • CPR Certification required prior to employment.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships, and crisis management.

  • Strong organizational and communication abilities.
  • Attention to detail with the capacity to prioritize tasks independently.
  • Ability to multitask in a dynamic mental health environment.
  • Collaborative team player with effective verbal and written communication skills.

Supervision:

  • Reports to Chief Nursing Officer, Nurse Manager, Nursing Supervisor, or designated personnel.
