Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Perioperative Registered Nurse to join our team at New England Baptist Hospital. As a key member of our operating room team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring a safe and efficient surgical experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify their needs and develop individualized care plans.
  • Care Coordination: Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Perioperative Care: Provide direct patient care in the operating room, including preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care.
  • Leadership and Education: Supervise and educate non-professional staff, and participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices.
  • Quality and Safety: Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care and a safe work environment.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required; Master of Arts in Nursing (MA) degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of scrub and circulating RN experience required.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) or American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (ASPAN) certification preferred.
