Documentation and Compliance:

  • Accurately document all relevant patient care information in the electronic medical records system.
  • Identify and utilize necessary resources to ensure safe and effective patient care.
  • Oversee and delegate tasks to nursing assistants, providing guidance and support.
  • Address safety concerns proactively within the unit.
  • Adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA compliance.

Quality Improvement:

  • Engage in the collection and analysis of quality data to uphold high standards of care.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and contribute to unit activities as needed.
  • Serve as a mentor to patient care associates, providing coaching and support.
  • Facilitate shift handovers and provide clinical oversight during assigned shifts.
  • Assist in the coordination of patient admissions and discharges in collaboration with the Registered Nurse.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • When acting as charge nurse, develop patient care assignments and manage staff schedules.
  • Contribute to performance evaluations and educate staff on organizational policies and procedures.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Understanding of and alignment with the care philosophy at Hebrew SeniorLife.
  • Ability to innovate, think strategically, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to change.
  • Proficient in computer skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
